PHRYGIA, Hierapolis. Pseudo-autonomous issue. temp. Septimius Severus, AD 193-211. Æ (23.5mm, 7.44 g, 1h). Bare head of bearded Hercules right, with club over shoulder / Asclepius standing facing, head left, leaning on serpent-entwined staff; on left, Hygeia standing right, feeding serpent out of patera. Von Aulock, Phrygiens –; SNG von Aulock 3622; SNG München 219; SNG Copenhagen 430 (all from same obv. die). Dark green to black patina with earthen highlights/deposits, light cleaning scratches. Good VF.
