James I (1603-1625), First Coinage, Shilling, 1604-1605, second bust, reads ANG SCO FRA ET HIB, 6.11g, 6h, m.m. lis (North 2073; Spink 2646), slightly irregular flan with a small striking split above crown, otherwise bright, the portrait unusually bold, a pleasing very fine, scarce in this condition.
