Charles I (1625-1649), Group D, Double-Crown, 1636-1638, Class IIa, Tower (under King), smaller crowned bust left, unjewelled, with falling lace collar, rev. crowned oval-garnished shield dividing cypher, stop after PROTEGIT only, 4.39g, 8h, m.m. tun [over crown on obverse] (cf. Schneider II, 201; North 2169; Brooker 166 this coin; Spink 2703), slight crimping resulting in occasional weakness, otherwise a really good fine, rare.
