Charles II (1660-1685), Restoration of the Monarchy, the so-called Pattern Broad, 1660, in silver, by Thomas Simon, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. MAGNA OPERA DOMINI 16-60, crowned square-topped shield, edge plain, 29mm., 8.08g, 7h (Lessen [1995], type Ba; Nathanson pp. 34; MI I, 463/59; Eimer -; North 2776), the odd surface mark, otherwise an attractive cabinet tone with further colourful flares in recesses, good very fine, rare.
