Martins Bank Limited, a colour trial specimen £1, ND (1929-31), red serial number 00000, green (issued colour black on creamy paper), bank arms at left, the Tower of Refuge at right, signatures of R.H. Milner and E.S. Oldham, reverse green, Castle Rushen at left, the Albert Tower at right, triskeles at centre, (IMPM M322 for similar, Pick 18acts), an important discovery note and unlike normal Waterlow sales book CTS this example has signatures and serial numbers (zero), in the cataloguers opinion this is a final stage of the colour trial process and was presumably presented to the decision making authorities for final approval. Crisp original paper extremely fine. Believed to be unique.

Estimate: £1,000 - £1,200
