Rx: AVRELIVS CAESAR AVG PII F COS Draped and cuirassed bust of Marcus Caesar r., head bare. Ex CNG E410, 29 November 2017, lot 282. Rare with Marcus\' bust draped and cuirassed on reverse. Overweight specimen.This exquisite sestertius shows flawless portraits of Antoninus Pius and the young Marcus Aurelius. Virtually untouched, this is one of the most beautiful examples of this highly desired pair of portraits of two of Rome\'s finest emperors. This coin, based on its looks and surfaces, no doubt was in one of the famous sales of Europe from 1900-1930, but we have so far been unable to discover its pedigree. MS
