Student of Laurens and Barrias at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris. In 1898, he won the First Grand Prix de Rome for sculpture. After the Great War, demobilized, sick and ruined, he went to Algeria where he became responsible for the sculpture section at the School of Fine Arts in Algiers.
