João VI 960 Reis 1821-R AU58 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM326.1, LMB-479. Struck over a Ferdinand VII 8 Reales 1813 So-FJ from Chile (cf. KM80). An extremely scarce host coin for any 960 Reis from João's reign, with sales records of the last several decades revealing perhaps as few as five 960 Reis of any date from his reign overstruck on Chilean "Bust" 8 Reales hosts. This is the first such example we have offered.
