MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.73 g), Babylonia mint, posthumous issue before 305 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right with lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus seated to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to right and below **ALEXANDROU BASILEWS*, monogram **DA* to left and **QE* under throne, dotted border (cf.S.6749, Price 3786, M.-, specimen in Duft hoard). Toned, fine and very rare.
