KINGS OF AXUM, Nezana (Nezool), (c.470-490 A.D.), gold unit, (1.61 g), obv. crowned and draped bust right, holding three-pronged 'fly whisk', framed by grain ears, around **+QEOV E VXAPICTIA*, rev. draped bust right, in headcloth, holding two-pronged 'fly whisk', framed by two grain ears, N of legend retrograde, around **+BACILEYC NEZOWL*, (cf.Hahn, Aksumite 38d, Munro-Hay type 82 var, cf.BMC Axum 401). Struck with rusty dies, very fine and very rare.
