Diva Faustina Senior. Died AD 140/1. AR Denarius (18mm, 2.83 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck under Antoninus Pius, AD 146-161. Draped bust right, wearing pearls bound on top of her head / AED DIV FAVSTINAE, hexastyle temple in which is a seated figure of Faustina Senior. RIC III 343 (Pius); RSC 1. Toned, a couple of flan flaws. VF.

Following her consecration, a temple to Faustina (later rededicated to both Divus Pius and Diva Faustina) was begun on the Via Sacra. Remains of the temple are preserved today, having been incorporated into the construction of the church of San Lorenzo in Miranda.
