Bendall, "Notes on the Coinage in the name of John Comnenus-Ducas of Thessalonica (AD 1237-44)," in NC 162 (2002), 14; DOC 23; SB 2208; cf. CLBC 14.11.4 and 14.19.4. Dark brown patina. Near VF. The three example in Dumbarton Oaks Collection are also brockages.
