THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid-late 2nd century BC. AR Stater (19mm, 5.85 g, 12h). Head of Zeus right, wearing oak wreath; monogram to left / Athena Itonia right; monogram to inner right. BCD Thessaly II 855.1; HGC 4, 208. Toned. Near VF. Very rare, staters with this control were unpublished prior to the BCD (Triton) catalog.

In the Triton sale, BCD noted that "...it is likely that this issue was the first of the late Thessalian League."
