Presented to Frances Dalgliesh, First Prize Winner for Woollen and Worsted Weaving (Division I), Designing Course, 1956 (all inscribed around edge). Obverse designed by Charles John Shoppe FRIBA, 1880. City and Guilds Award Seal: arms of the City and Corporation of London within two concentric circles enclosing (clockwise in inner circle): arms of the Mercers, Drapers, Fishmongers, Goldsmiths, Salters, Ironmongers and Clothworkers Companies, interspersed with roses on three leaves; and (clockwise in outer circle): arms of the Dyers, Leathersellers, Pewterers, Armourers and Brasiers, Carpenters, Cordwainers, Coopers, Palisterers and Needlemakers Companies, set on laurel wreath / Arms of the City and Corporation of London above banner over ornate cartouche inscribed INTERMEDIATE TECHNOLOGICAL EXAMINATION, facing portrait between two olive branches within laurel swags below; CITY AND GUILDS OF LONDON INSTITUTE above, DEPARTMENT OF TECHNOLOGY below. 63.97g, 51mm, 12h.
