Modern Reproduction: Sicily, Kamarina AR Didrachm. Circa 415-405 BC. Bust of young river-god Hipparis facing three-quarters to left, with horns on forehead, hair in long loose curls, and small signature EYA[I] on neck, flanked by fish swimming downwards; all within border of stylised waves / KAM[ARINA], the nymph Kamarina, wearing chiton, riding swan swimming to left on waves; fish swimming to right below, another in right field. For prototype, cf. SNG Lloyd 876; Rizzo pl. 7, 9; SNG Hunterian 5; Kraay-Hirmer pl. 54, 151. 8.47g, 20mm, 6h.
