Elagabalus Æ 25mm of Nicopolis ad Istrum, Moesia Inferior. AD 218-222. Novius Rufus, consular legate. [AVT K M AVP] ANTΩNEINOC, laureate head to right / [VΠ NOBIOV] POVΦOV NIKOΛITΩN ΠPOC ICTPON (sic), statue of Zeus standing facing, head to left and holding sceptre, within tetrastyle temple seen in perspective with shield in pediment and decorated with palm branches. AMNG I 1982; Varbanov 4070 corr. (no 'H' after 'AVP' in obv. legend, misspelling of NIKOΠOΛITΩN in rev. legend; same dies as illustrated specimen). 9.00g, 25mm, 7h.
