Russia Hanging Seal Free Pskov 1443 -1468
Pb 7.28g 26x22mm; The hanging lead seal of the Pskov Republic of the approximate period of 1443-1468. Obverse with a circular legend and the image of Prince Dovmont. Reverse with the line "Pskov seal, then Percy will make stones". The time of the introduction of the seal into the office work of the republic dates back to the period 1424-1425. S. V. Beletsky connects the Pskov seals with the activities of the Pskov State Duma. In the collection of the State Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg, 1995. "Antiquities of North-Western Russia", dedicated to the ongoing exhibition of the history of culture of the North-West, this seal is indicated under the catalog number 551, stamped with a similar pair of matrices. The right part of the obverse and the corresponding part of the reverse are not stamped. Scratches on the reverse. An extremely rare item in a high degree of preservation. In this form, lead seals are practically not found. A magnificent museum exhibit. Вислая свинцовая печать Псковской республики приблизительного периода 1443-1468гг. Аверс с круговой легендой и изображением князя Довмонта. Реверс со строчником «Печать псковская, тогда и Перси свершiшь камены». Время введения печати в делопроизводство республики датируется 1424-1425гг. С.В.Белецкий связывает псковские печати с деятельностью псковской Господы. В сборнике Государственного Эрмитажа СПБ 1995г. "Древности Северо-Западной России", посвящённого проходящей выставки истории культуры Северо-Запада, данная печать указана под каталожным номером 551, оттиснутая аналогичной парой матриц. Правая часть аверса и соотвествующая часть реверса не оттиснулись. Царапины на реверсе. Чрезвычайно редкий предмет в высокой степени сохранности. В подобном виде печати из свинца практически не встречаются. Великолепный музейный экспонат.
