BRUTTIUM. Petelia. Late 3rd century BC. AE (Bronze, 20 mm, 8.25 g, 10 h). Veiled head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of grain ears. Rev. ΠΕΤΗΛΙΝΩΝ Zeus standing facing, head to right, hurling thunderbolt with his right hand and holding scepter in his left; to left, star; to right, H. HGC 1, 1614. HN Italy 2454. SNG Copenhagen 1910. A lovely and unusually well preserved example. Minor smoothing, otherwise, about extremely fine.
