SICILY. Hybla Megala. Roman rule, After 241 BC. Hexas (?) (Bronze, 19 mm, 7.31 g, 12 h), circa 190-186. Veiled and draped female bust (Artemis Hyblaia) to right, wearing kalathos; to left, bee. Rev. ΥBΛAΣ MEΓAΛAΣ Dionysos standing front, head to left, holding kantharos in his right hand and thyrsos in his left; at feet, panther leaping right. CNS III 1. HGC 2, 497. SNG ANS 195-7. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, good very fine.
