HUNNIC TRIBES, Kidarites. Kidara, circa 350-385. Dinar (Gold, 34 mm, 7.30 g). 'BAΓO KIΔAPA OOZOPKO KOÞANO ÞAYO ('His Majesty, Kidara, Great King of the Kushan' in Bactrian) Kidara standing front, head to left, wearing a crenellated crown with a globe on top between two broad horizontally-pleated ribbons and holding trident in his left hand; to left, trident above small altar; to right, tamgha. Rev. Traces of the illustrious God (Shiva) standing facing. ANS Kushan 2433. Cribb, Kidarites, p. 141, 16. Struck from the usual heavily worn reverse die and with a flan crack, otherwise, very fine.
