JUDAEA. Aelia Capitolina (Jerusalem). Macrinus, 217-218. Tetradrachm (Billon, 25 mm, 8.31 g, 12 h). ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΟΠ CЄ ΜΑΚΡΙΝ[ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Macrinus to left. Rev. ΔΗΜΑΡΧ ЄΞ ΥΠΑΤΟC Π Π Eagle with spread wings standing facing on thyrsos, head to left and holding wreath in beak; between the eagle's legs, wine jar; in exergue, grape bunch. Prieur 1644 var. (differing reverse symbols). Apparently unpublished and with a very interesting portrait. Somewhat rough and with a minor flan on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
