Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 2.80 g, 7 h), Rome, circa 130-133. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P Bare head of Hadrian to right. Rev. AFRICA Africa, wearing elephant-skin headdress, reclining left against rock, holding scorpion in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left; at her feet, modius with grain ears. BMC 812. Cohen 140. RIC II, Part 3, 1495. Harshly cleaned and with a minor graffito on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
