Plautilla, Augusta, 202-205. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.44 g, 6 h), Rome. PLAVTILLA AVGVSTA Draped bust of Plautilla to right. Rev. VENVS VICTRIX Venus, bare to waist, standing front, head to left, holding apple in her right hand and palm frond in her left, resting her left elbow on shield set on ground; to left, cupid, standing front, head to left, holding uncertain object (helmet?) in his hands. BMC 429. Cohen 25. RIC 369. A beautifully toned example with a charming portrait. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die, otherwise, about extremely fine.
