Gallienus, 253-268. Antoninianus (Silvered bronze, 24 mm, 3.83 g, 12 h), Rome, 262. GALLIENVS AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to right. Rev. ANNONA AVGG (sic!) Annona standing front, head to left, holding grain ears over modius in her right hand and anchor in her left. Cohen -. MIR -. RIC -. Unpublished and of great interest. Flan fault on the obverse and with minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
From the E. Mensch & A. Bauer Collection of coins of Gallienus.
This is a particularly curious spelling error as the AVGG would normally indicate the recognition of a second Augustus.
