Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Andronicus III, 1282-1328. Hyperpyron (Electrum, 24 mm, 4.08 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. Bust of Virgin Mary, orans, within city walls furnished with four groups of towers; in field to left, fleur-de-lis; in field to right, A. Rev. Christ blessing Andronicus II and Andronicus III, kneeling to left and right, respectively; in fields, IC - XC. SB 2461. Two flan cracks and with minor graffiti, otherwise, very fine.
