KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.30 g, 2 h), Lampsakos (?), circa 323-301. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPO[Y] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; in field to left, monogram of KA; below throne, AI. Cf. Price 1379A-1380 & 1385 (differing symbols in left field). Apparently unpublished. Light marks and the reverse double struck, otherwise, good very fine.
