KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.23 g, 3 h), Abydos, struck under Leonnatos, Arrhidaios, or Antigonos I Monophthalmos, 323-317. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, tunny fish; below throne, monogram of ΔΥ. Price 1513. Light scuff on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
