KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 16.45 g, 11 h), Chios, Oinopides, magistrate, circa 190-165. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY / OINOΠIΔHΣ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, sphinx seated left on thunderbolt. Bauslaugh, Posthumous, Series 57. Price 2405. Very rare. Flan fault on the obverse and with light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
