KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.26 g, 6 h), Tarsos, struck under Balakros or Menes, circa 333-327. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; below throne, A. Price 2993. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die and with light scratches on the obverse, otherwise, about very fine.
