KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.21 g, 2 h), Arados, struck under Menes or Laomedon, circa 324/3-320. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, Σ; below throne, monogram of AP. Price 3316. Light scratches and scuffs and the obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
