KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.91 g, 10 h), Babylon, struck under Archon, Dokimos, or Seleukos I, circa 323-318/7. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, M; below throne, ΛY. Price 3692. Struck slightly off center and with a scratch on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
