THESSALY. Pharsalos. 4th century BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 16 mm, 2.83 g, 12 h). Head of Athena facing slightly to left, wearing triple crested helmet and necklace; to left, A. Rev. Φ-A-P-ΣA Helmeted Thessalian horseman to right, brandishing flail over head. BCD Thessaly II 673.1 var. (differing reverse legend). HGC 4, 662. Patina stripped and somewhat rough, otherwise, about very fine.
