THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid-late 1st century BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 6.46 g, 12 h), Damothoinos and Philoxenides, magistrates. Head of Zeus to right, wearing oak wreath. Rev. ΘEΣΣA/ΛΩN - ΔΑΜΟΘΟI - ΦΙΛΟΞΕΝ Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear with her right hand and holding shield on her left arm. BCD Thessaly II 869.3 var. (longer name forms). HGC 4, 210. Nicely toned. Minor roughness on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
