ATTICA. Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.49 g, 12 h), Eumareides, Kleomen... and Leon..., magistrates, 113/2. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos and long tendril on the bowl, and with the foreparts of four horses above the visor. Rev. A-ΘE / ΕΥΜ/ΑΡΕΙ/ΔΗΣ / ΚΛΕΟ/ΜΕΝ / ΛΕΩΝ Owl standing facing on amphora; to right, Tritpolemos driving biga of serpents left; on amphora, I (?); in exergue, ME; all within laurel wreath. Thompson 680. Somewhat rough and with some scrape, otherwise, nearly very fine.
