KINGS OF BOSPOROS. Sauromates II, circa AD 174/5-210/1. 'Denarius' (Bronze, 26 mm, 12.33 g, 11 h), circa 186-196. BACIΛЄⲰC CAYPOMATOY Diademed and draped bust of Sauromates II to right. Rev. Aphrodite seated left, holding apple in her right hand and long scepter in her left; to right, X between two pellets (mark of value). MacDonald 543/2. RPC IV.1 online 3878. A bold example with a particularly attractive portrait. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, good very fine.
