MACEDON, Amphipolis. Marcus Aurelius. As Caesar, AD 139-161. Æ (20mm, 4.39 g, 6h). Bareheaded and draped bust left / Artemis Tauropolos standing left, holding long torch and shield set on ground. RPC IV.1 Online 5022 var. (bust right); SNG Righetti 343 var. (same). Dark brown and green patina, some roughness and scratches. VF. Interesting variety with a retrograde obverse legend and Aurelius' bust facing left, which indicates that the engraver simply engraved the obverse die the opposite of what he should of done.
