Augustin I Iturbide 8 Reales 1822 Mo-JM MS63 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM306.2, WR-36, Elizondo-164. Type I. Semi-reflective across shimmering surfaces that unveil an abundance of mint "flash" upon rotation. A balanced steel tone blankets the obverse and reverse faces, enhancing the presentation of a firm strike that yields clear detail throughout Iturbide's long-necked bust and the perched eagle's feathers alike. Rare so fine, and importantly, the single-finest example yet seen by NGC.
Ex. R.L. Lissner Collection (CNG-St. James's Auction 29, August 2014, Lot 1888); Purchased from Sam Lopresto in October 1974
