Augustin I Iturbide 8 Reales 1822 Mo-JM MS63 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM310, WR-36, Elizondo-167. Type V. Beautifully choice and with a wonderful expression of luster, this superior representative bearing the bust of General Augustin de Iturbide reaches for the peak of preservation recognized for the type, with only a single example grading a point finer at NGC. Micro-striations over the bust and crossing into the fields are original to the coin and result from the production process, contributing to an authentic appearance that speaks to obvious care in preservation, sufficient to leave even such minute features intact. A soft peach and silver patina clings delicately to the surfaces, joining with shimmering brilliance in the fields to yield a one-of-a-kind appeal.
