Simply gorgeous quality for this early Spanish 4 Reales, boasting sharpness throughout the raised features and near-gem luster in the fields. Perhaps most noteworthy for its incredible grade, we would note that not only is this the joint finest for the type seen by NGC, but also the single highest certification awarded by that service for any 4 Reales of the pre-1600 series. Though a mild shift is observed over both sides (obscuring the square D mintmark attributed by NGC), this does little to impinge on either the legibility of the legends or the painstaking execution of the designs.
