Carus (AD 282-283). AV aureus (20mm, 4.53 gm, 12h). NGC AU 5/5 - 3/5, scuff. Cyzicus, 2nd emission, early December AD 282. IMP C M AVR CARVS P F AVG, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Carus right, seen from front / VIRTVS CARI INVICTI AVG, Hercules, nude, standing facing, head right, resting right hand on hip, left hand placed on club set on rock; lion skin draped on left arm; K in exergue. RIC V.II 117. Calicó 4294. Perfectly centered with areas of toning. Very rare, with three examples in sales archives.
