Glycerius, Western Roman Empire (5 March AD 473-24 June AD 474). AV tremissis (14mm, 1.43 gm, 5h). NGC MS 5/5 - 4/5. Rome or Ravenna mint. D N CLYCERI-VS F P AVG, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Glycerius right, seen from front / Latin cross pattée within wreath terminating in large central jewel; COMOB below. RIC X 3109 (Rome [?]). Depeyrot 38/2 (Ravenna). Lacam-20, Pl. CXL, 1 (same obverse die). Exceptionally well struck and preserved. The present example is the first of this extremely rare emperor we have had the honor of offering. A mere ten total examples of Glycerius from all mints and denominations appear in sales archives in the past 20 years.
