Awarded to Edward Horace Man (per edge inscription), a British administrator and philanthropist who, among other things, worked in the Nicobar Islands, studying the native peoples and documenting their lives photographically. His writings were later published posthumously in a work titled The Nicobar Islands and Their People. A historic piece with fully struck features, rendered to bold relief alongside reflective fields that together yield a pleasing cameo contrast. Sold with case of issue.
