George VI gold Proof 5 Pounds 1937 PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC, KM861, S-4074, W&R-435. Mintage: 5,500. A sharp, high-end conditional outlier, perfectly frosted over the King's sleek features and the rearing St. George motif alike to achieve a decisive and complete cameo contrast. The finest hairline wisps are the only features of note across the fields of this otherwise pristine jewel, which displays astoundingly watery characteristics and mesmerizing reflectivity to several inches. Out of 112 "Ultra Cameo" specimens seen by NGC to date, only three examples certify more highly, each only a single point above the grade of this remarkable specimen.
