This pair of large gold issues were struck by the Mayfair Gold Medal Centre to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Atlantic Charter, Churchill and Roosevelt's 1941 vision for a postwar world with eight central clauses, including the right of all people to self-determination, global cooperation and advancement of social welfare, and a common disarmament after the war. These medals, produced the year following Churchill's death, depict both leaders in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, the meeting place of the pair during the Atlantic Conference. Wholesome Medals with fully reflective fields and crisply struck devices, lending to their advanced visual appeal. Accompanied by the original case of issue and COA.
