Nicholas I gold Proof "Laureate Head" 100 Perpera 1910 PR62+ Ultra Cameo NGC, Vienna mint, KM13, Fr-2. Mintage: 501 inclusive of business strikes and Proofs. Variety with Nicholas facing left, wearing laurel wreath. A top tier selection, assigned the coveted "+" and "Ultra Cameo" superlatives, and considered a king among the Montenegrin series. Rarely encountered so fine, with clear cameo contrasts against deeply mirrored fields that further aid the already enhanced aesthetic caliber of the piece. Of note are some subtle haymarking and contact marks witnessed to the field, highlighted by the sheer reflectivity of this apricot-tinged specimen, likely precluding it from a choice designation. Between both grading services, only three are considered finer, topping out just a half-point above the piece at hand at PR63. Of tremendous numismatic importance, this specimen should garner commensurate interest.
