PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 BC). AR stater or tetradrachm (26mm, 14.20 gm, 12h). NGC MS 3/5 - 4/5. Uncertain mint in Cyprus or Phoenicia, dated Year 90 (173/2 BC). Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, aegis tied around neck; dotted border / ΠTOΛEMAIOY-ΣΩTHPOΣ, eagle with closed wings standing left on thunderbolt; q (date) in left field, no border. Svoronos 1112 (Ptolemy III, Marathus)/1205 (Ptolemy IV and V, Marathus). SNG Copenhagen 547. Strongly struck on bright flan.
