Justin I and Justinian I (4 April-1 August AD 527). AV solidus (20mm, 4.48 gm, 6h). NGC MS 5/5 - 2/5, scuffs. Constantinople, 7th officina. D N IVSTIN ЄT IVSTINIAN PP AVG, Justin I (on left) and Justinian I (on right) seated facing on throne represented by curved uprights and no cross bar, both with right knee advanced, nimbate and wearing chlamys, both hands clasped to breasts; no cross above between, CONOB in exergue / VICTORI-A AVGGG Z, angel standing facing, grounded cross in right hand, globus cruciger in left; star in right field, CONOB in exergue. Sear 115c. DOC -. Sharply struck on lustrous, ample flan. Extremely rare variety.
