Chile
Copiapo. Revolutionary Peso ND (1859) MS62 NGC, KM-X2.2. ".1.P," inverted shield variety. A fascinating necessity issue struck during the Chilean Revolution of 1859, led by Pedro Leon Gallo from the city of Copiapo. An especially crude issue but one instantly identifiable with its central star in an inverted shield above a ".1.P" stamp, denoting the denomination. Rarely encountered this fine, ranking at the very peak of NGC's census, tied with three others across all varieties for the date, which includes the Lissner specimen offered in 2014.
