Republic 1/4 Real 1832/7 P-RU MS64 NGC, Popayan mint, KM85.3 (Rare; overdate unlisted), Restrepo-147.4. Listed as "Rare" in the Standard Catalog of World Coins, and one of only two examples of this base date certified by NGC, of which this is the finest, as well as the sole 1832/7 recognized by that service. Yet further, PCGS has only recognized a single representative of this overdate variety (in XF45), rendering this Mint State offering as a clear anomaly, and certainly as the finest certified example ever offered on auction. Boldly struck and remarkably lustrous for this generally crude type. A coin that will confer significant bragging rights to its future owner!
