Louis XIII gold Modern Restrike 10 Louis d'Or 1640-A-Dated MS65 NGC, Paris mint, cf. KM114, cf. Gad-62. 39.68gm. Numbered 366 to the base of the reverse. An immense Gem Mint State offering likely produced in the 1970s by the Paris mint, in homage to the iconic original and early restrikes that occasionally come up at auction and generally to significant fanfare. This large sun-yellow planchet embossed with the massive portrait of Louis XIII features expansive fields peppered with extensive die polish. Rarely offered for sale, and quite a treat to see two in the same auction.
